It represents a collaborative effort between medical experts and non-medical social workers, all dedicated to contributing positively to Society DOST is a registered NGO under the Bombay Trust Act 1955 and Maharashtra State Societies Registration Act, with registration number F-5097, dated 27/07/2001 and MH/81/2001 dated 27/07/2001 respectively. The foundation of DOST was laid in 2001 under the banner of APRS (AIDS Prevention and Rehabilitation Society), where Dr. Govind Jawade along with some doctors and social activists in Parbhani focused on HIV/AIDS initiatives and women empowerment. As most of the members were spiritually inclined and motivated by a sense of service, collectively decided to broaden the scope of work in 2006. Dr. Kailash Jawade who was getting his training in transplantation realized the need of organ donation awareness and work in various other areas. With his vision, on 8th March 2008, APRS was renamed as Dhanwantari’s Organization for Socio-health Transformation (DOST).
...Over the years, DOST continued to work in the field of in HIV/AIDS awareness and treatment. Organization also expanded focus to include socio-economic upliftment, women empowerment, environmental protection and the pursuit of world peace. This strategic expansion has allowed DOST to serve a larger segment of the community effectively. Currently, activities of DOST are concentrated in Parbhani and Mumbai. In Parbhani, DOST is working for initiatives related to women empowerment and supporting for the elderly through old age home. DOST Mumbai branch is actively engaged in various projects such as organ donation awareness, student empowerment, diagnostic services, and medical and surgical camps. DOST Mumbai has a significant emphasis on guiding and empowering young students through DOST Mumbai Students’ Forum. Through forum DOST strive to inspire them to take an active role in social work. Additionally, organization is keen to establish several specialized forums, including a Women’s Forum, a Senior Citizen's Forum, an Allied Health Professional's Forum, and a Doctors’ Forum.
Through the dedication and commitment of young volunteers, DOST has a aim to extend reach to the most vulnerable populations, ensuring that the services positively impact as many lives as possible.
Our mission is to support each and every individual to achieve a state of Perfect Positive Health (Productive Health or Supreme Health).
We are committed to work for healthcare activities, socio-economic upliftment, women empowerment, environmental protection and world peace through SHG (Self-Help Groups) formation, spirituality, education, research, and service-oriented processes.

Dr. Govind Jawade shifted focus to women's empowerment projects, while Dr. Kailash Jawade began training in multi-organ transplantation. In 2007, a revitalization of the organization was initiated, culminating in a rebranding effort.
The organization was renamed Dhanwantari’s Organization for Socio-health Transformation (DOST). This rebranding came with a renewed commitment to addressing health-related issues, fostering socio-economic upliftment, empowering women, protecting the environment, and promoting world peace.
Renaming of the organization to Dhanwantari’s Organization for Socio-health Transformation (DOST) during the Sankalpa Siddhi Sohala event. 2008: Initiation of women empowerment initiatives through Self-Help Groups (SHGs) in Parbhani and Hingoli districts. First community care center for HIV Positive patients was started with the help of KHPT in Parbhani
After completeing fellowship training in transplant sciences both Dr Kailash and Dr Vaishali came back to India and decided to work in Mumbai. Dr Vaishali started to work in D Y Patil Hospital where as Dr Kailash decided to join KEM Hospital and be a part of liver transplant program. While working at KEM he identified need of developing organ donation movement
Spain experts visited Mumbai when Dr Kailash has detailed interaction with them regarding development of Spain Program. He identified Pandhapur Pilgrimage and Varkari Community as a media to develop the organ donation movement
Establishment of the DOST Mumbai branch.
Implementation of various awareness programs.
He went for Pandharpur Vari to learn and understand and simultaneously created awareness using pamphlet and posters. Subsequently, this activity become a regular activity of DOST Mumbai and AVYAVDAN AND ARROGYASEVA DINDI is now one of the key activity.
Dr Kailash got an opportunity to work in surgical camp at Dahanu. He notonly liked this concept of surgical camps but decided to work for the camps every year. Since then along with a team of doctors and students he participate in camp every year. Till date team has participated in around 15 camps and conducted over 2000 surgeries.
Initiation of the Avyavdan and Arogyaseva Dindi; establishment of the Students Forum and DOST Kalamanch; introduction of street plays for awareness.
Conducted eye checkups during Dindi and started the Bharud performances to raise health awareness.
Started Gajanan Maharaj Prakat Din celebration at Kamothe Navi Mumbai.
Launch of Instavari, a social media initiative to share DOST activities.
Tulsi vanprasthashram started at Parbahni
Awareness campaigns through a digital van featuring recorded bhajans and short films for community outreach.
Formation of multiple teams for various initiatives; started distributing medicines during Dindi; organized various health camps.
